High-Design, Spacy-Savvy Veggie Garden with Rain Tanks

Grimes Veggie Garden, originally uploaded by espeedy123.

The second of four feature stories I wrote about good local veggie gardens ran in The Dallas Morning News on Friday.

It’s tucked into a side-yard. It featured raised cedar beds and two 300-gallon rain tanks. This is the first year the homeowner had this garden, and last I spoke with her she said she’s had mixed success over this season. Lots of green beans, not so many tomatoes.

I think this is a good example of space utilization. It also shows how good a place can look when you hire a skilled designer and carpenter to help move things along.
